While at the Fort Garland cemetery, my niece and I were there to mourn our dead, we were confronted by a laborer cutting weeds by the name of Doro Sanchez. In a demanding voice he asked, "Why did you bury your nephew at our cemetery without paying!" In the first place, I was not the one who buried my nephew there and in the second place he passed away and was cremated and buried on March 8, 1995 on the grave of my brother that passed away on May of 1987. I don't believe the Revitialization of Fort Garland was in place during those dates. Is this the pratice of this organization to be confronted by labor workers with this kind of non-professional behavior with questions that I find to be humiliating and abusive? I was offended by his interrogation and I would appreciate an investigation into these rude interferences when a family is tending to the graves of their loved ones.
